IBM z/VM® is an operating system with highly secure and scalable hypervisor and virtualization technology designed to run Linux®, z/OS®, z/VSE® and z/TPF virtual machines as well as Red Hat® OpenShift® on IBM zSystems™ and IBM LinuxONE servers. z/VM provides a highly secure and scalable environment for efficiently running critical Linux applications, with support for more Linux virtual servers than any other platform in a single footprint.

As a developer your primary responsibility is to try to simulate and execute predominant ransomware attacks on few of the Linux OS components. You will be working together with a set of cybersecurity experts within IBM to understand concepts around Threat modelling , Manual Operating System Vulnerability Testing, Operating System and hypervisor exploits."
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 8-12 years' experience in Information Security, or a related field
- Expert level C/C++ programming skills
- Strong Python skills
- Deep Linux Kernel knowledge and hands-on experience
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security
- Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information
- Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in information security, including risk assessment, incident response, and security operations.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Understanding of encryption and cryptographic protocols.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and web application security.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Basic understanding about processor architectures like ARM
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Strong knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
- Proficient in performing risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI DSS.
- Experience in configuring and managing security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI DSS.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOX.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve security incidents.
