Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing IBM EDA (Electronic Design Automation) team in Hardware organisation at India Systems Development Lab (ISDL). This team is engaged in the development of tools and methodologies for IBM Z and IBM POWER servers. It includes EDA tools like simulation, verification, logic debug, ECO, DFT, timing, power and noise analysis and tools to manage infrastructure. Since effective global collaboration is key to this role, experience in working with global teams is a must. This position requires working closely with technical and management stakeholders across the Infrastructure organisation on project plans, development and validation.

Candidate is expected to drive the projects from requirements to General Availability (GA) of products, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and keeping processes running smoothly. Candidate needs to ensure effective communication and escalation of risks and dependencies while ensuring timely decisions are being made.
Interactions with senior leaders, highlighting risks across functional areas and providing recommendations to enable product level decisions are also important aspects of this role.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, or associated engineering fields
  • 5+ years of technical management experience, 15+ years total hardware industry experience.
  • Prior global management experience.
  • EDA tools and methodology development experience in either front-end, back-end or sign-off is a must.
  • Driving the latest techniques around Design Thinking and Agile development methods will be preferred.
  • Building & Coaching Effective Teams.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Broad processor development cycle (Hardware Design, Development, Verification & Validation, DevOps & Continuous Integration) experience is good to have.
