Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Research Lab in Dublin is offering internships for MSc and PhD students interested in experiencing the research environment at IBM Research.
During your internship you can expect to work on challenging research problems as part of a diverse team in a leading worldwide industrial research organisation. We work in domains such as AI, Security, Privacy, Life Science, Quantum Computing, Future Systems and Cloud. Our cross-disciplinary approach to research, coupled with the deep curiosity of our researchers and engineers, offers a unique opportunity to participate in scientific and industrial research as part of a world-class research organization. Interns have authored papers, filed patents, contributed to open-source projects, and contributed to IBM products during their time with us.

Applicants should be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral level course and have a background in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematical discipline. Areas of interest include, data mining and machine learning, AI, statistical modelling and optimisation, applied math, control and decision systems, knowledge representation, natural language processing, data privacy, cloud and future systems architectures, high performance computing, and quantum computing.
In your application you should enclose a CV and include a one-page cover letter. It will help us process your application if you specify up to three areas of interest in your cover letter.
Note that internships are for a minimum of 90 days and are in Dublin, Ireland.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
