Introduction

The Network Underlay department within IBM Cloud's IaaS Network Engineering team provides incident and problem management, internal and external customer-driven changes, next generation network evolution guidance, network testing, new network solutions usecase validation, break-fix troubleshooting, and maintenance services for all aspects of data networking including but not limited to responsible for ongoing support of our global network infrastructure including routers, switches, datacenter network, transit and transport links which connect data centers sites to other networks and to other datacenter sites. The Network Project Manager position is an individual who is an accomplished Project Manager with experience in network engineering and network operations and ability to drive individual build/expansion/lifecycle management tracks

Your role and responsibilities

Capacity & Project Management

• Understand network topology, network hardware technologies, how different elements of the technologies interoperate to build business solution.

• Understand and anticipate trends to build/expand network capacity management based on Business demand/forecast (VPC capacity).

• Identify & bridge any process gaps

• Interface with Network architects, Network Engineering team and services team to ensure all dependencies are identified, committed, delivered on schedule.

• This role works with and through teams across organization (procurement, finance and vendors) to do NW HW orders (using Ariba tool) and manage order delivery in timely manner.

• This role demands

• Solid foundation of project management methodologies, apply best practices and various techniques.

• Manage projects to ensure that project management methodologies (hybrid of Agile and waterfall as program/project dictates) are applied for a successful delivery.

• Responsible for ensuring the overall health of projects.

• Be a power user of Atlassian products (Jira, confluence) to build various reporting capabilities (using Jira plan/board & Jira structure)

• To be able to explore, examine and correlate data from multiple disparate sources to solve business problem with analytical solution

Operations Analyst

• Engages and communicates promptly and effectively with multiple cross functional teams such as technical leads, procurement, product management. finance, and customer sales leads.

• Maintains and tracks multiple data sources to provide accurate and up to date data for financial tracking and asset management.

• Ability to clearly summarize and report on data in a precise and timely manner.

• Advanced skills with multiple systems (Ariba, IMS, Excel, Monday, Box, PowerPoint) in order to pull, manipulate, and display data in an effective and professional manner.

• Knowledge of corporate finances, taxes, and accruement methods.

• Working understanding of data centers and cloud network.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelors in Engineering/Science
  • Project Management experience - 5-10 years

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Exposure to computer networking industry
  • Certifications like PMP.
