This role provides subject matter expertise for the product management profession across the IBM Software organization and serves as a facilitator and speaker to advocate for the PM transformation and new practices within Software.
Education and activation
- Serve as the organizational advocate for product management best practices and methodologies.
- Own enablement and activation plan for new and existing IBM Software product managers
- Oversee all curriculum planning and design for the portfolio of product manager education and enablement programs, informing appropriate instruction models
- PM community and PM voice
- Participate in and lead workshops, seminars, and public speaking engagements as a representative of our product organization.
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor to product teams, providing coaching, mentorship, and support on product management principles.
- PM career growth and development
- Develop career growth and development recommendations for product managers
- Curate performance expectations and skill demonstration by band level
- Practice refinement
- Play an active role in influencing the new practices within IBM Software and ensure smooth refinement of existing practices.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years in Product Management profession
- Three or more years of experience in contributing to the enablement, coaching, education the PM profession
- Proven track record of implementing and advocating for product management processes and frameworks.
- Demonstrated written communication skills that can tell a story and helps bring clarity to complex topics and practices
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with a track record of driving change within an organization.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- A proactive, "get it done" attitude, with a passion for helping others succeed.
- Experience with data-driven product decision-making is required
- Experience with existing product management tech stack such as Segment, Amplitude, WalkMe and others is preferred.
