Introduction
Generative AI holds considerable promise for the advancement of data governance practices. It also represents considerable opportunity as enterprises look to better manage and exploit a broader set of data types for tuning foundation models to apply to new use cases. We are seeking a technical product manager to work across the team to both clarify the use cases for which generative AI could be applied in our product consistent with IBM strategy, as well as to ensure product requirements are designed in a manner consistent with modern requirements for metadata management.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Team player responsible for helping define the strategic direction for successful application of generative AI features across IBM Data Governance product line. Success is measured through adoption of features that drive increase in overall product usage, as measured through north star metric and input metrics.

Strategic Planning:
  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and unmet customer needs.
  • Conduct deep competitive technical assessment and analysis
  • Provide input on and execute pricing, packaging and monetization strategies
Technical Product Management:
  • Lead the planning and execution of feature roadmaps that will deliver differentiated value to our clients. This requires strong collaboration with senior development and design leaders.
  • Documents the functional and nonfunctional requirements and use cases to aid design and development in solution delivery
  • Collaborates across Data and AI product teams to identify use cases based on cross-product integration that will further differentiate and drive adoption
Sales Enablement:
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand client and market requirements, as well as communicate roadmap, demonstrate capability, both internally and externally.
    -Provide ongoing support to sales teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to drive product adoption.
    -Assist technical sales develop differentiated demo assets and use cases
Customer Engagement:
  • Work closely with customer success management teams & user forums to gather requirements and communicate strategy.
    - Identify product experience inhibitors to product adoption based on instrumentation, support issues, interviews and related techniques.
  • - Engage positively with clients to resolve product issues and uncover true needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years' experience in a technical product management or technical pre-sales role
    • in a data management related discipline, a plus
    • experience installing and configuring enterprise software a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross functional teams
  • Solid understanding of generative AI concepts
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements to technical needs, using data to prioritize requirements for technology teams
  • Strong ability to explain complex technologies to non-technical audiences
  • Comfort in diving into the technical details of integrations and analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Familiarity with data platforms, AI solutions, and enterprise software.
  • Experience in product management, preferably in the data and AI space.
  • Master's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence
