The IBM Technology Expert Labs organization is looking for an IBM Mainframe Solution Architect with expertise in IBM z/OS and Linux on z technology and products.

requirements, and conduct discovery activities to define and create services solutions to address client
needs. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction
with industry and business skills to influence clients. You are responsible for building a scope with activities and corresponding assumptions and estimating the level of effort. The Solution Architect creates the client-facing proposal content and the detailed work breakdown structure.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with multiple sellers and clients.

This position is REMOTE.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5-10 years of experience with:
    • z/OS, z security, RACF, z networking
    • Linux on z: RHEL, RedHat OpenShift, Ansible, z/VM
    • Middleware: Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, WAS
    • z Application and Platform Software tools
    • Experience architecting plans for IBM z/OS version upgrades for existing and new IBM Zhardware implementation services, including product migration services for both IBM and third-party ISV software related products
  • Demonstrated communication skills in a customer facing environment at all levels of technical, management and executives
  • Understand technical requirements to craft work scopes, work breakdown structures, labor estimates, and manage risk.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience working with Ecosystem Partners and Sellers
