Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Scala Software Engineer you'll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients' hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

You'll have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies, ensuring the applications delivered are high performing, highly available, responsive, and maintainable.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of front-end and back-end applications using Scala.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and applications that meet business requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of developers.
  • Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to decision-making.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to improve code quality and maintainability.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear and understandable language.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience as a Lead Developer or similar role, with a background in Scala development using the Play framework.
  • Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining software.
  • Proficiency in using development tools, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferably experience working in the Public Sector.
