Introduction

LinuxONE is a flagship product from IBM. These are large, powerful computers typically used for complex calculations and data processing tasks. This computer is the size of a refrigerator. Companies and governments utilise them for mission-critical applications, providing next-level data privacy, security, and resilience to organisations that cannot aJord a single mistake.

We are looking for an intern to help us create impressive technical demos for presentation to other students and customers at public events. You will utilize your skills and creativity primarily in UI development to design user-friendly architectures that tackle real business challenges. You will be working on our LinuxONE machine situated in Singapore. This machine features Red Hat OpenShift, Linux, and boasts various cutting-edge functionalities for you to explore.

In consultation with our team, you will begin creating solutions that utilize various technologies, placing a strong emphasis on UI development, cyber resilience, confidential computing, and GenAI. We expect you to be bold, learn something new, and apply it immediately.

Together, we will develop use cases that showcase the application of quantum-safe cryptography and GenAI through engaging UI designs and by creating interactive, hands-on labs.

Who You Are:

  • You can grasp technologies through a self-learning curriculum.
  • You enjoy analysing a given problem, developing creative solutions, and building a system to solve the problem.
  • You are a self-motivated and fast learner and hyper-curious about how things work

Your role and responsibilities

  • Take self-paced learning modules at the IBM Learning portal.
  • Document technical work.
  • Work and deploy code on Linux and OpenShift.
  • Attend meetings.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Hands-on experience with Linux OS, Linux Scripting languages and commands.
  • Conceptual understanding of computer systems, networking and devices.
  • Conceptual knowledge of security.
  • Experience with relational and non-SQL databases.
  • Experience with programming, e.g., Python, HTML, JavaScript.
  • Some experience with problem determination, e.g., understanding error codes, analysing logs or job output.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience managing virtualisation infrastructure.
  • Experience with container images and build processes.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and Ansible.
  • Experience in digital design and development of end-user solutions
