The successful applicant will help ensure effective operations of the 300mm research line at our Albany NY facility dedicated to semiconductor research and development. Applicants will be part of a team driving the specification, design and installation of state-of-the-art Semiconductor process and measurement equipment. They will support successful daily operations of the facilities, fab support systems and existing tooling to achieve critical research deliverables and ensure a safe fab environment. In this role engineers will work collaboratively with IBM development teams, tooling vendors, and site facilities to meet challenging installation timelines for new tooling and upgrades with a focus on ensuring both technical and safety requirements are met. The team is responsible for end-to-end tooling definition from concept to installation. This role provides the opportunity to join a world class team responsible for defining and delivering 2nm and beyond technology and the required infrastructure to support IBM Research and its partners. Applicants must have strong ability and desire to work with cross functional teams and strong communication skills.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 3 years of experience applying equipment engineering / maintenance concepts in a manufacturing or research environment.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a collaborative environment across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering, or other engineering fields with focus on project management.
- Strong MS Office Skills - Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Working knowledge of multiple disciplines of fab tooling and building support systems, and fab architecture.
- Strong skills in electrical, mechanical, chemical, HVAC, building controls and UHP gas designs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills on semiconductor process equipment, facilities support systems and understanding of advanced semiconductor materials processing and MES systems.
- Sound working knowledge of NYS building codes and National Electric Codes.
- Experience in fab design and planning, AutoCAD.
