Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with these latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.

Your Role and Responsibilities
This job entails being able to:

Install IT equipment in racks, running network cables using software to apply IP addresses and basic OS skills if needed. Work is driven from a ticketing system to allow end users to request installs, fixes, or removal of IT equipment in a fast-paced environment on a 20K sq ft Lab floor.

You will be responsible for installing, repairing, connecting, moving, and removing Enterprise class IT hardware as well as making them available for remote users to be able to perform their tasks. This includes Enterprise Class Storage Subsystems, Power Systems, Z Mainframes as well as Enterprise class storage and network directors. You will get experience working with Data Center Inventory Management Tools as well as datacenter Power and Cooling requirements.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
• Need to have experience with installing and repairing datacenter class IT equipment.
• Need to know networking basics such as applying IP addresses.
• Able to be able to safely lift 30lb (13kg) of weight.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
• Experience Knowledge of SAN cabling and configuration.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to work with tools.
• Working knowledge of Operating Systems such as Linux.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Successful completion of the 2024 IBM Sales Intern Program.
  • Registered undergraduate university student (rising Junior or rising Senior) OR Registered graduate university student for Fall 2024.
  • Bachelor's degree with a STEM major and/or minor OR Bachelor's degree attained and pursuing a master's degree with a STEM major and/or minor.
  • Client Focused: Asks open-ended questions and understands needs to address business challenges.
  • Team Player: Demonstrates team collaboration and can navigate different communication styles.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that are engaging, compelling and influential.
  • Self-Starter: Motivated to work with clients and can lead projects independently.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Programming coursework or experience a plus.
  • Prior work experience in client sales or service.
