Introduction

As a private cloud engineer you will apply your deep skills in designing, deploying, and supporting highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using REDHAT Openstack, OpenShift, and Ceph Storage

Your role and responsibilities

1. Migration from vanilla Openstack (zFOCS v1) to RedHat Openstack ecosystem (zFOCS v2)

2. Technical troubleshooting of customer reported software issues with an OpenStack private cloud.

3. Helping customers with the Horizon interface, operating cloud management platforms and Heat templates.

4. Identifying bugs in underlying OpenStack, distributed storage subsystem or other components and collaboration with engineering staff to isolate root cause analysis.

5. Using DevOps processes, creating and automating methods to scale OpenStack and Ceph services within and across data centers.

6. Participate in modification, automation and management for underlying OSes, tools and OpenStack components.

7. Participate in development of zFirmware specific cloud components (Python)

Required technical and professional expertise

Redhat linux system administration (experienced, 5+ years)

Good knowledge about all aspects of RedHat Linux and ability to modify system to meet security requirements.

Hands-on experience of system management, system setup and managing Linux on x86 based servers as well as configuring them.

Development skills (experienced, 5+ years)

Knowledge in shell programming and architecture

Knowledge in at least one of the upper tier scripting languages like Python

Networking (experienced, 3+ years)

Knowledge of IP addressing and some common networking protocols like IPv4 and IPv6

Knowledge of various Networking Services such as routing, network namespaces, VLANs, DNS, DHCP

Knowledge of security maintenance using encryption, firewall, VPN.

Virtualization and private (experienced, 3+ years)

Experience in operating Openstack based cloud environment.

Configuration management tools (experienced, 3+ years)

Solid skills in configuration management tools like Ansible or Saltstack

Basics in version control systems (git, github)

Preferred technical and professional experience
