Your Role and Responsibilities
System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM AS/400 hardware, operating systems (OS/400), and related software components.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and installations to ensure the AS/400 environment remains up-to-date and secure.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to optimize performance and scalability.

- Create and manage user accounts, profiles, and permissions on the AS/400 platform.
- Configure and administer user access controls, security settings, and audit trails.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for user-related issues and inquiries.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for AS/400 systems and data.
- Conduct regular backup tests and ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for AS/400 systems.
- Monitor system logs and audit trails for security breaches, unauthorized access, and anomalies.
- Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of AS/400 configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and security metrics as required.
Experience on external Storage configuration and Flash storage are a plus.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as an AS/400 Administrator or similar role, with hands-on experience managing IBM iSeries systems.
- In-depth knowledge of IBM AS/400 hardware, OS/400 operating system, and related technologies (DB2, CL programming, RPG).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools, backup and recovery solutions, and security management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Certification - IBM Certified System Administrator - IBMi (AS/400) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with high availability (HA) solutions such as IBM PowerHA.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
