Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM event team plans and executes best-in-class virtual, in-person and hybrid events that deliver new pipeline, build brand awareness, and offer outstanding attendee experiences. Delivering great client events involves many stakeholders and the event strategists leads the charge in understanding business requirements and IBM clients and partners and integrating them in the event experience, providing critical leadership and partnership across marketing functions, sales and agency partners to bring the event plan to life.
The IBM Global Conference team scope is end-to-end execution of Think and TechXchange global conferences, as well as strategy and delivery of regional experiences around the world. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about B2B events, detailed orientated, motivated and eager to learn and grow in the company.
Key responsibilities
• Creating and coordinating listings for local in-person regional events
• Supporting and assisting teans that are running local events
• Reviewing data and suggesting new things to try to engage sellers and customers
• Collaborating with marketing, technical sales, and the broader marketing and IBM TechXchange teams
• Co-owns and contributes to the optimization of events to meet business objectives based on stakeholder feedback
• Contributes to the design of event attendee experience within the client journey, based on standard event kits
• Oversees the end to end event process and tools, as applicable, to ensure audit compliance
• Ensures all legal, compliance, finance, and other required processes efficiently completed
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 1+ years of experience one of the following areas: Digital Strategy, Marketing, or Technical Support
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks
• Project management experience, adherence to deadlines and ability to think strategically
• Interest in data-driven analytics and resulting actions; a growth mindset
• Avid learner who consistently expands knowledge to gain new skills and expertise, predicting needs and preventing issues
• • Great interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to managing projects across cross-functional teams
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience with event and/or marketing platforms including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, Marketo, etc. preferred
• High energy, independent worker, self-starter, resourceful, and problem-solver
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously
