As a member of IBM Technology Expert Labs, Global Delivery Center #GDC you will be client focused, courageous, pragmatic, and technical to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges.

Once trained, you will have demonstrated skills for implementing IBM GDPS® engagements, be familiar with sysplex architectural methods, assess IT infrastructures, evaluate gaps in best practices and create IBM GDPS® solution recommendations for client environments while displaying excellent collaboration and communication with Clients, Sellers, Business Partners and Colleagues by delivering reports to clients.

You will be trained to develop and deliver IBM GDPS® solution design, architecture, and implementation of IBM GDPS® solutions which may include:

  • Setting up, configuring and cloning z/OS LPARs,
  • Configuring and customizing GDPS® functional capabilities,
  • Designing and customizing NetView automation, REXX and JCL to support IBM GDPS® environment,
  • Assisting with customer IBM GDPS® deployment testing,
  • Providing technical guidance and skills transfer to customer personnel for IBM GDPS® related topics,
  • Producing planning and implementation reports and documentation,
  • Installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of IBM Z operating system, subsystem, and related Z software,
  • Other technical tasks as necessary to accomplish successful customer outcomes.

This role will require knowledge of the IBM Systems Z hardware and software ecosystem, focusing on IBM Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS®). z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, Networking and Automation skills will be needed.

You will work with customers and IBM Sales and Business Partners to position, scope, and deliver IBM GDPS® which is a collection of system recovery offerings on the IBM Z® platform, each of which uses services, clustering technologies, and server and storage replication and automation. You should be comfortable with client interaction.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 1 year of experience with IBM Systems Z hardware,
  • Project management and the ability to collaborate across teams,
  • Candidate should be self-organized, eager to learn with strong sense of analysis & troubleshooting skills,
  • Strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills,
  • Readiness to travel up to 30% of time annually,
  • Experience in client facing communications, requirements analysis, documentation, creating presentations, presenting to client staff, and speaking at an executive level,
  • Ability to work independently and take accountability.
  • A second European language, beside good command of English is a must.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

1 year of experience of:

  • z/OS system programming,
  • Basic RACF knowledge,
  • z/VM system programming,
  • Linux on z Systems administration,
  • One or all of:

    • Networking skills especially TCP/IP knowledge,
    • Automation provisioning,
    • Storage management experience using DFSMS.

Further more:

  • Ability to lead customer technical workshops,
  • Good customer facing communications, requirements analysis, documentation, and report presentations,
  • SMP/E, Assembler, JCL, REXX and CLIST knowledge,
  • Knowledge of IBM's GDPS® portfolio,
  • In addition to the above experience, the ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail,
  • Being dynamic team player who is comfortable working in a small, but rapidly evolving environment,
  • Passion for making a difference in their profession and the environment,
  • Preferred second language: German, French, Spanish, Italian.
