Your role and responsibilities

This role is accountable for the leadership, direction and decision making to implement the facility management SLAs and strategic investments for Americas, covering 20 million square feet across Canada, United States and Latin America.

Responsible for the oversight and governance of Contract & Supplier Management to ensure the outsourced Facilities Management provider delivers optimal service levels in line with contractual agreements, company policies, and industry best practices.

Oversees risk management strategies, safety compliance, and regulatory requirements across all IBM facilities for Americas.

Facilitates the development, prioritization and execution of a multi-year expense and capital investment plan for the geography.

Ensures that the facility management and site operations teams conduct business within all company and real estate policies, processes, and contract terms.

Provides dedicated support to the buildings and critical infrastructure by working directly or via FM partner.

Develops high performing teams, growing talent, skills, capabilities, and succession planning.

Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Technical expertise in Facilities Management with strong vendor management experience
  • Demonstrates leadership and engagement of cross-functional teams and resource coordination
  • Strong skills in executive communication and presentation, as well as negotiaiton skills and adaptability
  • Experience in real estate transactions, project management, program management, facilities management and office services
  • Experience in driving prioritization of investments
  • Demonstrates financial acumen through fiscally sound budget planning and management

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
