Introduction
IBM Systems hypervisor is the virtualization stack on IBM systems. Provides hypervisor capabilities, like base infrastructure and core function to enable server virtualization on IBM systems supporting AIX, Linux, IBMi operating environment. It also delivers advanced virtualization functions enabling server /workload consolidation and optimization via use of latest Network, I/O and Hardware technologies.
Validation engineers are required to understand and build expertise on virtualization domain and technologies. They are responsible for the quality of the product being delivered to IBM customers. They are expected to develop and execute tests cases, debug the issues during product testing. They should also engage in process improvements required to improve the quality of delivery. And influence the product functions via new ideas, innovation or end user/customer like thinking.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer in the IBM Systems Hypervisor Functional test team, you will be responsible for the functional verification of IBM hypervisor for IBM servers. As needed, you are also expected to work with the Open Server Architecture partners and Open BMC community for server virtualization validation and support.
As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer, you will work on testing, design and development of automation suites for validating different Hypervisor related subsystems of IBM Servers.
Design, develop and execute test plans for validating platform and virtualization management functions through command line and Graphical User interfaces.
Develop / maintain automation suites GUI and CLI demonstrating a strong understanding of underlying system design and using skills in Jenkins, GIT, Python / Perl.
Be a contributor in developing an environment for continuous improvement across product lines
Interact with the Development, System test teams and Product Engineers to define test plans and collect test data across teams
Analyse Automation reports; Identify and verify defects

1.Must have good experience in Virtualization concepts.2.Must have experience in creating and managing Unix or Linux partitions using server management tools.3.Must have experience in scripting languages (PERL, shell, Python) and should have experience in configuring and executing automated test suites.4.Should have strong debugging skills. Should be able to isolate setup/configuration, hardware, scripts, product issues) 5.Should be able to write Test Plans from the Design Documents.6.Working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as Agile & TDD Methodology7.Must have experience with defect management tools like CQ and Test tracking tools ü Prefer familiarity with general Hypervisor environmentü Familiarity with System P architecture, Server hardware knowledge is a plusü Good communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, Self motivator, Excellent team player, Leadership skillsü Ability to work independently, Adaptability to work with bigger teams in a global environment
Must have experience to configure Network, SAN and Virtual Machine setup in UNIX/Linux environment.
