Your role and responsibilities
The Federal Technology Solutions Architect, as a core member of the capture team, is responsible for supporting IBM Technology sales through our Federal Systems Integrator (FSI) partners and leading the account and brand teams to:
- Develop the differentiated IBM technical solution through facilitating working and collaboration sessions with the capture manager and extended sales and technical teams to meet the requirements of Federal (Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Communities) proposal responses.
- Work with account, brand, and FSI sellers to determine the overall solution strategy and approach, aligning the FSI's objectives and requirements to generate value propositions to solve Government client challenges.
- Interact directly with Government clients to understand requirements and craft responses to inquiries.
- Identify and evaluate technical solution risks and create strategies and plans to mitigate those risks.
- Lead team of technical professionals to produce a response to requests for information and support requests for proposals in coordination with internal IBM Technology sellers and our FSI Partners that are compliant with Government objectives.
- Represent IBM Technology's complete suite of offerings and competencies in the market through customer demonstrations, capability presentations, and participate in the creation of Proof of Concepts (POCs).
- Design innovative cost-effective solutions focusing on hybrid cloud, artificial intelligence and quantum that could also include any of IBM Technology's offerings
- Utilize a consultative selling approach to understand Government objectives, IBM's value proposition and our FSI Partner's approach to recommend a high probability of win solution.
- Articulate all aspects of the technical solution during internal and external partner meetings with a wide variety of audiences and knowledge levels from technical subject matter experts to mission managers and executive sponsors.
- Interact with customers to gain insights into customer needs and support shaping activities by articulating the benefits of the IBM Technology approach.

Required technical and professional expertise
- Minimum 7 years of experience supporting successful technical solutions for large, complex opportunities for Federal Government customers.
- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Demonstrated ability to keep pace with emerging technologies
- Strong Architectural Design background and expertise..
- Experience leading the formulation of technical solutions for new business opportunities within a highly matrixed, collaborative business development framework.
- Substantial experience working in a Federal government contracting environment with experience covering strategic plan development, consultative selling, strength-based proposal development and maximizing potential for win (PWIN).
- Proven successful leader and facilitator in managing and influencing high performing, critical resource teams that are highly matrixed under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, written, and oral presentations skills.
- Extensive experience interacting with customers, team members and C-Suite executives.
- Ability to clearly and simply relay complex technical information to audiences of all levels to display the value of a solution.
- Experience supporting Government requests for information and requests for proposals.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Demonstrated continued learning through one or more technical certifications or related methods.
- Architect level certification in at least one hyperscaler - IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Broad technical understanding of the IBM Technology portfolio.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
