The Fab Operations Technician at IBM plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful operations of the 300mm research line. This position involves providing direct fab support for ensuring priority down tool recovery of various types of semiconductor process equipment across multiple fabs. The technician will engage in daily tactical management of fab operational goals, which requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. The responsibilities include monitoring and moving key critical hardware, interacting with peripheral support equipment and fab support systems, collaborating closely with Equipment Engineering and site facilities teams to troubleshoot and recover any impacts to line operations. The technician will also be tasked with implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Your role and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Fab focus - 80% or more time in the fabs
Visibility - be approachable and interact with NY Creates Team, management, leads, Techs and Cleanroom Operators
- Supporting activities required to meet Fab throughput metrics, program deliverables, Fab yields, and overall fab quality and continuous improvement metrics
- Work and communicate with various teams, respecting the rules of engagement of the different partner relationships
- Involved in training activities to build a proactive, engaging team
- Take engineering advisement to establish priorities between activities and resources in order to meet Fab metrics and act on those priorities.
- Provide suggestions for longer term solutions to Fab operations challenges, by recommending changes to protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with tool owners, facilities and equipment engineering teams to identify areas to improve tool performance, and actively support improvement plans
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required technical and professional expertise
• This position requires an associate degree or at least 2 years of semiconductor experience.
• Candidate must have, excellent computer skills, including Microsoft word and Excel,
• Be well organized with attention to detail,
• Have the ability work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Preferred technical and professional experience
• 5 years of semiconductor experience.
• Lift 25 lbs (to Handle FOUPs)

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
