Your Role and Responsibilities
Advise on:
- Property environmental remediation (U.S. and international),
- Global environmental and chemical regulatory compliance,
- ESG regulations and requirements,
- Product safety and hardware compliance,
- Product and real estate due diligence in acquisitions and divestitures,
- General real estate matters and agreements,
- Environmental aspects of supply chain, and
- Negotiating with environmental regulators and attorneys.

Advise IBM Law Department colleagues on environmental, product safety, and regulatory risks.
Act as subject matter expert to the IBM Law Department for environmental and sustainability matters.
Partner with IBM's compliance teams to provide legal direction.
Oversee outside counsel who support environmental matters.
Find efficiencies in the current legal support model and take the incentive to build new structures that fit today's IBM.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- J.D. with at least seven (7) years' experience as in-house corporate counsel, at a law firm, or equivalent experience, preferably in the tech field.
- License to practice law in a US jurisdiction, preferably New York.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to think on your feet;
- Sharp analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues with creativity, diligence and speed;
- Solid business judgment and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
- Familiarity with US and global data privacy and security laws and standards; and
- A positive, collaborative attitude and a sense of humor.
