Introduction
As an Engineering Manager, you will utilize your technical expertise, leadership abilities, and professional experience to lead and support the engineering team working on the IBM Power platform. You'll oversee the development, integration, and delivery of critical projects while collaborating with other engineering groups to drive success. In this dynamic and fast-moving environment, you will take on multiple responsibilities, from ensuring technical excellence to nurturing team collaboration, innovation, and customer-centric outcomes. Your leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing IBM's strategic goals.

Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing engineering team while promoting a culture of collaboration, creativity, and ongoing learning. Offer technical leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the team aligns with organizational objectives and architectural guidelines.

Project Management: Drive the successful execution of projects, including design, development, testing, and release of high-quality deliverables. Oversee technical dependencies and ensure milestones are achieved within set timelines.
Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with stakeholders across OpenShift, Power Systems, and other IBM teams to synchronize priorities and deliver integrated solutions. Standards & Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to security standards, compliance requirements, and organizational frameworks.
Customer Focus: Equip the team with the necessary tools, training, and processes to resolve customer issues efficiently and provide a seamless support experience.
Risk Management & Communication: Identify potential risks, address blockers, and maintain transparent communication with senior management to ensure alignment and resolution.
Continuous Improvement: Advocate for initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, team effectiveness, and the overall quality of the product.

Required technical and professional expertise
Proven experience (8+ years) in leading engineering teams and successfully managing complex software projects. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly agile frameworks. Expertise in hybrid cloud technologies, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift), and foundational knowledge of hardware architectures, virtualization, and hypervisors.
Ability to foster collaboration across multiple teams and manage interdependencies effectively. Demonstrated experience in overseeing the product development lifecycle while ensuring quality and timely delivery. Hands-on knowledge of distributed systems, storage technologies, or virtualization solutions.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira) and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Capable of addressing customer escalations promptly, ensuring issues are resolved and service delivery improves.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Experience with OpenShift and Power Systems integration. Practical expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native development practices. Background in scaling engineering teams and optimizing processes to enhance productivity
