Your Role and Responsibilities

The Emerging Technology and Partnerships leader will articulate and drive our partnership strategy. This individual will create and drive a more holistic approach to the startup community and ecosystem, venture funds, customers, and partners (both existing and potential) tied to the Chief Sustainability Office's mission. They will ensure that the CSO is a growth enabler for business as well as driving intentional engagement in technology and sustainability. They are responsible for:

  • Creating a strategy for partnership and executing against that with the appropriate stakeholders - both internally and externally
  • Engaging proactively with relevant organizations and individuals globally to identify areas for partnership
  • Monitoring trends in the startup ecosystem and tying learnings to IBM and the CSO's broader strategies
  • Engaging with IBM technology and consulting teams to connect dots for engagement and potential partnership
  • Collaborating closely with IBM Ventures and IBM Sales / Ecosystem teams to align across functions, relationships, and desired outcomes

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience identifying and assessing business and partner opportunities; working with the relevant stakeholders to close deals or formalize opportunities
  • Familiarity with the startup ecosystem
  • Extremely collaborative in nature, able to identify and work across a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Experience articulating and executing on strategy, market assessment, and future thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate to a broad range of stakeholders

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience and technical skills using various databases, IT apps, automation and AI
  • Experience and network with startups, venture funds in the ClimateTech and AI space
