Your role and responsibilities
IBM Haifa Research Lab is looking for an experienced distributed systems research engineer to join our research team, to advance and create state-of-the-art technologies that leverage the power of science to address a wide range of challenges in the area of, distributed systems, crypto, protocols, data processing mechanisms and databases.

We are building the critical infrastructure - SW stack and applications, to support the digital transformation of financial regulated currencies such as central bank digital currencies, or commercial bank digital asset deposits. This domain imposes multiple technical challenges, that we need to address, to name a few: scalability and high performance, resiliency, privacy, etc.
You will join a team of scientists and engineers to help us build new and innovative products and solutions for IBM. Our research teams drives the organic growth of the company, and like startups within the enterprise transform our novel ideas into reality, bringing strategic advantage to IBM and significant value to our clients.The position entails research, design and implementation of innovative technologies and opens opportunities to work with the first class researchers worldwide, publish at top level conferences, contribute to open source projects and participate in clients engagements.We are looking for research engineers who are passionate about learning new things, incubating new ideas, advancing the scientific state of the art in distributed systems and crypto, bringing our cutting edge technologies and innovations to the market.

• Publication record in relevant scientific areas.
• Experience with cloud technologies: Micro services architectures, Dockers, Kubernetes.

• Experience with open source projects.
• Background in database design, cryptography.
