As a Digital Technical Specialist, you will become a trusted go-to expert and lead prospective clients towards industry leading solutions. You will directly impact the world's most influential enterprises and brands on the adoption of next-generation platforms.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Digital Technical Specialist, you'll be a collaborative technical expert and trusted advisor working with and across your clients, IBM's broader sales teams, and Business Partners. You'll understand clients' business and technical requirements within the current competitive landscape and, combining this with your knowledge of IBM's product suite, you'll present value-driving solutions that compel clients to invest in us.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with your squad to design use-cases and proofs of concept in response to prospective clients' requests for information (RFIs).
  • Prospecting to identify potential new clients and opportunities for expansion with existing clients utilizing video, digital tools, and cold calling techniques.
  • Understanding your prospective clients' buying cycles to accurately predict the potential and timing of deal closures.
  • Technical Sales - Provide technical support in early tech sales, including demos, proofs of concept, and workshops.
  • Collaboration with IBM Teams: Collaborate with IBM sales teams using various tools.
  • Product Advocacy: Highlight the advantages of IBM's products.
  • Digital Personal Branding: Build a strong personal brand for trust and credibility on digital platforms.

This position requires you to be in one of the following IBM offices: Atlanta GA or Dallas TX.

You may work with any of the following technologies: Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Cloud and Cognitive, Security, or Systems Hardware.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • B.S. in M.I.S., Business/Communications with a STEM minor, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering.
  • Ability to understand client technology needs to address business challenges.
  • Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Demonstrated team collaboration and navigating different communication styles.
  • Readiness to travel up to 10% annually.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Masters in STEM (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, etc)
  • Programming coursework or experience a plus.
Prior work experience in client sales or service.
