Your Role and Responsibilities
Your Job: SRAM and Circuit Design

We are hiring university graduates who want to work with the latest semiconductor technology and implement SRAMs and high-performance circuits for the world's fastest and most powerful server processors.

Fast SRAMs are crucial for the processor's performance and they are widely used in modern processors, e.g. as caches, register files or buffers. They often make up more than 50% of the processor's total size. Performance, area and power consumption are all important aspects which must be optimized in parallel and require innovative design ideas. This makes SRAM and circuit design an exciting profession that includes a broad range of different tasks. e.g.:
  • Development of SRAM design concepts considering trade-offs between performance, power and area
  • Design and implementation of SRAM circuits considering aspects like testability, reliability or yield
  • Simulation of SRAMs and analysis of the results to optimize the design
  • Close collaboration with the logic design team to understand and specify the requirements
  • Close collaboration with the layout design team to optimize implementation details
  • Close collaboration with the EDA team to optimize the design tools and flows
  • Close collaboration with the semiconductor technology teams to define technology aspects

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • University degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, materials science, physics or similar fields of study
  • Basic knowledge of digital or analog circuit design
  • Basic knowledge of circuit simulation (SPICE) is an advantage
  • Experience with CAD tools for the physical design flow (e.g. Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics etc.) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of a programming or scripting language (e.g. Python) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins) is an advantage
  • Strong intrinsic motivation
  • Strong team player and open minded to work in an international team
  • Strong communication skills in English and preferably in German
