Your Role and Responsibilities
DB2 Database Administrator L2:
In this role he/she will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of DB2 and recovery solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of DB2 architecture and the ability to handle a variety of tasks related to Db2 administration, data protection, and disaster recovery. You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of critical data assets while providing expert-level support to end-users and collaborating with senior team members and junior members case to case situations. Providing level 1.5 support to the client and L1 team is the key requirement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain DB2 database systems
- Perform regular database backups and implement recovery procedures
- Monitor database performance and tune queries for optimization
- Implement and manage database security measures
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Assist in capacity planning and database scaling
- Collaborate with development teams to improve database designs and queries
- Implement and maintain database documentation
- Participate in on-call rotation for database support
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 years focused on DB2
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts
- Experience with DB2 installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures
- Understanding of database security best practices
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- IBM DB2 certification
- Experience with additional database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with cloud database services
- Experience with database monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
