Your Role and Responsibilities
THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE IN COLORADO SPRINGS COLORADO 3 DAYS A WEEK.
US Citizenship is required for this role. Candidates for consideration must EITHER have a Secret OR Top Secret Clearance
The Cloud Architect will:
Architect, Design & Implementation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) on AWS Gov Cloud or other cloud service providers.
Identify & define technical requirements to build new AWS (or other cloud service providers) based applications and architectures as well as migrate on-prem applications to the cloud leveraging cloud native services.
Use Terraform/Cloud Formations to deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) for AWS resources (or other cloud service providers).
Deploy and provision in a production environment AWS (or other cloud service providers) resources including IaaS: EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, ELB, IAM, Security Groups, Cloud Watch, VPC, Route53, Subnets, Routing Tables, Internet Gateways, certificates, autoscaling groups, PaaS services: EKS, ECR, ECS, Fargate, Code Deploy, Code Commit, and other SaaS services.
Evaluate Cloud Services requirements and make architectural/design recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning up to IL-6 in AWS or other cloud service providers.
Design a hybrid architecture using key AWS (or other cloud service providers) technologies such as the Virtual Private Network (VPN), Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect (DX).
Work with and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers in building a state-of-the-art cloud environment that has the ability to scale and grow.
Security Clearance Required:
Minimum Secret clearance, prefer TS/SCI
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Security Clearance: Pre-existing, Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Degree: BS in an engineer field or applicable years of experience in Cloud architecture design and implementation
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in/with:
- Deploying IL-4+ cloud assets from any provider (AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficient in Terraform or Cloud Formations and at least one other major programming language
- Must have at least 5 years experience leading the design and implementation of advanced cloud solutions
- Must have at least 5 years experience in a client-facing environment and interacting with technical and business stakeholders
- Strong knowledge in cloud-native services, serverless architectures, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Security Clearance: Pre-existing, Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Experience creating and maintaining an IL-4 to IL-6 GovCloud environment
- Relevant DoD, IC, and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
