Your role and responsibilities

IBM's Oracle business is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a new leader to drive this growth. As an Oracle Business Development Manager, you will partner with a team of internal leaders and our strategic partner Oracle to identify, qualify, and close opportunities. Your sales efforts and accomplishments will address the most strategic requirements of the prospective client and promise both short-term and long-term revenue for IBM. You will maintain an effective business relationship with the client's management team and influence the overall success of our Oracle offerings within the Canadian marketplace. You will work to determine the client's needs and translate these needs into solutions and thus opportunities for IBM. As a member of our larger IBM consulting team, you will be able to work with the industry's best and further hone your expertise in Oracle.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • At least 4 years experience in performing consultative selling
  • At least 3 years of experience in Oracle software selling or consulting, preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications
  • Must be well connected in the Oracle market, including strong relationships with employees of Oracle Canada
  • Experience in building relationships with corporate-level executives
  • Experience in responding to RFPs and leading RFP response teams
  • Track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets
  • Proven success in prospecting and managing a territory and/or growing presence within a portfolio of accounts
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 3-4 days a week

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Fluency in French is an asset
  • Consulting or selling experience with other ERP technologies like SAP, Microsoft, etc is an asset.
