An IBM Cloud Networking Software Development Architect will be the key individual responsible for end to end feature enablement across the orchestration layer. You will perform hands-on coding and mentor junior developers, working to increase the knowledge and performance of the collective team. In addition, you will interface with senior architects across several locations to ensure that the overall strategy is communicated and understood.

We are a global team, so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to work with team members in other time zones.
What you will do:
System Design: Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure backend systems. Define and document technical specifications and system architecture.

Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Develop and maintain APIs, services, and databases to support frontend applications.

Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions.

Performance Optimization: Optimize backend processes for speed and efficiency. Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications.

Security: Implement security and data protection measures. Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team. Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and code reviews.

Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot backend issues. Debug and optimize code to improve performance and reliability.

Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance backend development.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems and processes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 15 years of experience in software industry
  • Experience implementing secure and scalable, highly-available distributed systems
  • Software Development experience in C or goLang.
  • Experience in Microservices - Kubernetes
  • Experience in Cloud Computing.
  • Networking protocol knowledge ( TCPIP, IPTABLES, ROUTING MODELS )
  • Good Knowledge of OS Concepts, Thread, TCP/IP Socket, Networking Concepts, Networking Security
  • Contribution to open source projects - advantage

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Cloud Concepts - VPC, Subnet, Floating Ips
  • Experience in the area of SDN / NFV domains
  • Experience in Compliance
