We are seeking an experienced and skilled Asset Management SME (Subject Matter Expert) with extensive Rail Maintenance experience to join our growing Asset Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise to our clients on their asset management maturity journey. Your experience will also guide our implementations of Maximo-based asset management systems for rail maintenance activities, with a focus on Asset & Work Management, Planning & Scheduling, Procurement & Inventory management, as well as industry specific functional areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management, rail maintenance, and/or a related field, with a proven track record strong client engagement and of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Maximo functional SME you will be working on client site in Sydney solving business problems, providing thought leadership and instilling industry best practices to realise value for our client.
  • Leads client relationship management and seeking new business opportunities including in Rail and other Transport industries.
  • Assists in offering development and go to market strategies
  • Assists in developing the strategy for assigned accounts and participates in the development of overall strategy. Responsible for servicing and selling solutions in selected accounts including in the Rail and Transportation industries.
  • Leads the design & implementation of engagements based on client problem statements and value which may run on multiple platforms and composed of multiple software packages and technologies
  • Leveraging their strong industry point of view around organisational reinvention, technology excellence and data transformation requirements associated with successful Asset and Workforce implementations backed up by hands on experience in designing and implementing solutions
  • Conduct strategic asset management assessments for our clients and develop plans to for our clients to make tangible progress through their asset maturity journey
  • Using your established domain eminence, collaborate with cross-functional teams (client and IBM), including maintenance, operations, and engineering to ensure effective asset management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and professional alliances.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures
  • Have deep understanding of industry standards and regulations, including ISO 55000
  • Be an integral part in growing and showcasing yours and IBM's eminence internally and at external events.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of experience in asset management, rail maintenance, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience with Maximo.
  • Strong knowledge of Maximo capability with experience in Asset & Work Management incl. Mobility, Planning & Scheduling, Procurement & Inventory, as well as industry add-ons.
  • Working knowledge of how IoT, automation, digital twin, AI and data enables more resilient physical infrastructure, more efficient and reliable operations, improved client experience and better customer service
  • Knowledge in Rail and Transportation industries is mandatory including strong understanding of rail maintenance operations, including maintenance scheduling, resource allocation, and performance metrics
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to frame questions, conduct workshop with stakeholders, understand pain points and synthesise findings
  • Ability to re-engineer and design future state workflows to enhance user experiences and simplify the technology landscape
  • Experience working in agile environments

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Professional certification in asset management and relevant Industry membership
