Introduction
Product Managers are business leaders tasked with making strategic decisions to manage and grow the business. They manage the product lifecycle from inception through growth, maturity, and end-of-life stages and define partnership and ecosystem strategies for product execution. Product Managers maximize internal and external relationships interfacing with Design, Product Marketing, Ecosystem Partners, Analysts, Engineering, Sales, and Services teams to deliver a successful product with defined routes to market.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you'll be part of a team defining how IBM will evolve its core software businesses and how it will differentiate itself in a competitive Hybrid Cloud market.
You'll play an important role in helping to define product requirements and will work across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Services teams across Software and IBM Cloud to help deliver a successful offering with strong routes to market.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Connecting with customers, prospects, and other market stakeholders to identify needs, validate market requirements, quantify opportunities, and then translate these into detailed product requirements for development.
• Helping prioritize requirements based on data, to maximize development investments and build an aggressive roadmap.
• Performing market/competitor analysis to identify (and promote) unique IBM competencies
• Supporting senior Product Managers in building offering packages and pricing appropriate to market conditions.
• Building clear messaging that will fuel sales and marketing assets in support of launching an offering into the market.
• Maintaining a current understanding of industry and technology trends to ensure IBM maintains a strong vision and future roadmap.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in Product Management or technical product marketing
• Experience of dealing with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to build relationships, resolve problems, and promote IBM's products and services
• Demonstrated experience presenting to customers and/or speaking at public events.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to adapt communication style for a broad range of audiences
• Technical understanding of what it takes to modernize application workloads
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Technical understanding of WebSphere, MQ, Db2 and IBM Cloud services
• Experience of analyzing the financial aspects of product development and delivery
