Your Role and Responsibilities

As the Analyst Relations Manager for IBM Data & AI, you'll be responsible for influencing analyst perception of IBM's offerings, counterbalanced with inbound engagements to inform and hone product/market fit. You'll work well in collaboration with your stakeholders in product management and marketing to advance business goals, increase share of voice, and improve market traction.

This role is best suited for self-starters who thrive in deadline driven environments, and who appreciate the autonomy to build and implement a tailored analyst relations plan. Your ability to identify target analysts, align interactions to key business priorities, and to establish an appropriate engagement cadence is fundamental to your success in this role. A good degree of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills is requisite as you'll own the relationship with each analyst and their firms, and will be accountable for the health and value return of those relationships over its lifetime. Experience in security is a plus, but no substitution for passion and pride in your craft.

Provide expertise to identify the right analyst(s), and appropriate interactions, experts, and content to achieve business goals. Orchestrate IBM's outbound engagement and participation in the Analysts' research agendas and published reports that matter most to the business. Develop IBM's inbound engagements to inform our offering and market strategy to hone product/market fit.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Deep experience in one or more of the following: analyst relations, public relations, corporate communications, software marketing, software product management
• Relationships: Builds trusted and enduring relationships with analysts and IBMers of all personalities and work styles
• Communicative: Articulate in spoken and written format in 1x1 and 1-to-many forums with analysts, senior executives, and experienced subject matter experts
• Organized: Can multi-task, prioritize and be responsive to the needs of IBMers, Analysts and fellow members of the cross-functional team. Plans the work and works the plan
• High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Skilled analyst relations or communications experience with analyst firms such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and others
• Relationship Building: Does so in a way that helps others see another point of view while maintaining respect between all parties
• Strategic: Can reconcile knowledge of IBM business needs with key analyst opinion and research agendas to build out the strategy, engagement plan, and tactics to effectively drive to outcome
• Bachelor's Degree or above in communications, marketing, or computer science or technology
