Introduction

The IBM Cloud CTO Office is responsible for defining the next generation of the IBM Public Cloud Platform, reinforcing the long-term strategic direction for IBM Cloud as the platform for secure regulated workloads, and ensuring that IBM Cloud meets client and regulatory expectations.

We are seeking an ambitious software developer to join our team in Bangalore, India. We seek individuals interested in having a voice in the long-term strategic direction of the IBM Cloud architecture and shaping it be the most secure, highly available and resilient cloud platform on the market for our clients.

Your role and responsibilities

Your work will produce tools and software to enable publishing and sharing of IBM Cloud architecture and security guidance, software, and technical documentation and architecture artifacts, which may include compliance controls automation, proof of concepts for technology evaluation and adoption across IBM Cloud in support of high-profile customer engagements, regulated industries, and audits.

  • Work in a continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous compliance
    environment, while evaluating and improving engineering processes
  • Leverage Generative AI to build next generation applications to increase productivity and reduce manual tasks.
  • Work in an agile environment to handle complex technical assignments, breaking down large and complex problems into smaller, solvable problems
  • Lead architectural decisions and design, and present technical solutions and designs to engineering teams and executive leadership
  • Assist Engineering/Development teams to perform POCs, evaluating different
    vendor products
  • Work closely with the individual IBM Cloud service owners and architects to meet
    requirements and security practices that will accelerate growth and adoption
    from the regulated services industry

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • 7+ years experience with application development using : Python, Typescript, shell scripting
  • 7+ experience with: Web application development, REST API using Python
  • 5+ experience working with any version control system (Git preferred) and building robust CI/CD pipelines
  • 7+ years of experience in containers and Kubernetes-based development
  • 7+ Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, debugging, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
  • Having a "roll up your sleeves to get things done" mentality to solve complex problems

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience with designing and implementing policy engine or linters for enforcing best practices in devops pipelines
  • Exceptional problem-solver, with ability to understand root cause and move forward and close on problems at the root cause
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate effectively across teams
