As an IBM Marketing Intern, you'll work collaboratively, driving work that addresses a strategic business challenge facing our team: helping to turn our vast collection of content into an easily understandable system that supports our visitors' key needs. In addition to your daily work, the internship includes educational, networking, and social activities. This is a highly visible intern program with leadership exposure and mentorship throughout the summer.

This role supports our internal creative team, Blue Studio, which is responsible for the strategic evolution and expression of the IBM brand across every experience and encounter, internally and externally. Our work crosses nearly every category of output: research and strategy, communications and content development, symbology and systems, digital and physical experiences, and tools and training. Our goal is to maintain modernity, sophistication, and tangibility, and to promote understanding of the IBM brand in the world. Our Blue Studio project managers are key orchestrators, managing project expectations among stakeholders, the Blue Studio, and agency partners to uphold our creative excellence. The role covers a few key tenets: execution team advocacy and operational excellence.
Execution team advocacy
  • Understands what work is flowing through the IBM Blue Studio and external agency teams and acts as a voice to bring concerns or issues back to broader cross-functional teams
  • Acts as the voice for the team, ensuring needs are met and positioning the team's work correctly within any conversation
  • Help the team evolve work processes based on efficiencies gained over time

Operational excellence
  • Guides short-term and long-term planning exercises with the creative team by putting appropriate structure and timelines in place meet forecast demand
  • Responsible for helping identify escalation issues
  • Ensures that appropriate creative workflows and prioritization exercises are routine and raises blockers as needed

This role is based in Austin, TX.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University
  • Available for an internship in Summer 2025
  • Rising senior for the 2025-2026 school year
  • Maintain a strong attention-to-detail, strong organizational skills, and time management
  • Basic experience managing projects in an academic or professional environment
