HubSpot is looking for a Counsel to join the Commercial Legal Team to provide a key support role to our North America-based Sales Teams.
In this role, you'll get to:
- Provide first-line client-centric legal support to our North America Sales teams on commercial and legal issues
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, which may include SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work
- Work with other various business teams on a variety of legal processes as needed
- Partner closely with Sales stakeholders to understand the business objectives and hurdles, and drive strategic improvements
- Collaborate with other legal and compliance practice groups to solve for the customer while effectively managing HubSpot's risk

We are looking for people who:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited law school Have a minimum of 3+ years of relevant in-house legal experience
- Are in good standing and licensed to practice law as a member of a State Bar Association or equivalent professional qualification
- Have significant experience reviewing commercial contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process (Enterprise SaaS experience a plus)
- Have excellent legal drafting skills
- Have a strong foundation in data protection and privacy law
- Are enthusiastic about partnering cross functionally with business stakeholders to to understand strategic goals, and make informed recommendations to achieve business objectives
- Are able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
- Are able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and transparent environment
- Appreciate the customer perspective and 'solve for the customer' mentality
- Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
- Possess strong communication skills, especially via an internal wiki, Slack and Zoom (it's how we communicate)
- Are self-driven and solution-oriented
- Are passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code
Cash compensation range: 160000-240000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot's equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
