General description:
Perform cryogenic measurements of state-of-the-art semiconductor spin qubit devices to characterize their performance and physical properties as part of a collaborative, ambitious, goal-oriented, multi-disciplinary team focused on maturation of the technology.
Essential Duties:
Conduct low-noise, cryogenic experiments on sensitive spin qubit devices, develop new measurement techniques and methods, analyze results, write script level code to support experimental development and data analysis, report findings to other team members in oral presentations and written reports. Collaborate with measurement-system-engineering team and utilize applicable engineering analysis tools to identify and implement improvements to qubit-control, interconnect, and environmental subsystems. Analyze measurement results through application of relevant theory and modeling to define approaches for further device improvements in performance and/or yield.

Required Skills:
3+ years industry or national lab experience in experimental work with quantum systems. Detailed knowledge of quantum systems and corresponding control hardware, familiarity with scientific programming for data acquisition and analysis (specific language is not critical), and experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and reports.
Preferred experience: cryogenic testing environments, rapid measurement, time-domain control, and/or qubit characterization & coherent control.
Candidates with many years of experience may be considered for more advanced positions.
Required Education:
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics with at least 3 years of experience working with quantum hardware, or B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics with at least 4 years of experience working with quantum hardware.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment. Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits.
