About Tangled Bank Studios:

Summary:
As part of Tangled Bank Studios team, you will support media production, communications, and outreach efforts in a variety of ways. To be successful, you will need to be a good communicator, and be flexible, hard-working, and eager to learn. You should be proactive in your approach to work and enthusiastic about gaining experience and sharpening your skills.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid position that will report to our Headquarters office in Chevy Chase, MD three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) with the option to work remotely two days per week (Mondays and Fridays).
Please note: If selected for an opportunity, interns are responsible for securing their own housing for the duration of the internship (12 weeks during the summer months - mid-late May to early-mid August).

- This position will be compensated at a rate of $18.00-$20.00/hour for an undergraduate student and $20.00-$22.00/hour for a graduate student.
What you'll do:
- Work on Tangled Bank Studios' media and social media efforts
- Assist in crafting and editing content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Support general production and operations including but not limited to production releases, logging footage, helping the post-production team import footage into the media access management (MAM) system, and learning how to secure rights for film clips.
- Learn the process for reviewing scripts, cuts, and film deliverables, and learn how to deliver films and deliverables to broadcasters and distributors.
- Help research, coordinate and support events, such as film festivals, conferences, educational workshops, and community outreach initiatives.
What you bring:
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program majoring in the liberal arts is required. Graduate students will also be considered and are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe is required. Familiarity with Final Cut Pro or Avid would be a plus.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and capacity for creative problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Organizational skills, customer service skills, teamwork skills, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
