About The Role

The Job Cost Accountant reports directly to the Director of Accounting. This position is responsible for the basic job cost accounting and reporting functions for the Teravalis master-planned community located in Buckeye, AZ. This includes but is not limited to; AP & MPC Accounting, preparing Special Improvement District reimbursement packages for submittal to Maricopa County and The City of Buckeye, administering construction contracts and consulting agreements, preparing ad hoc reporting, preparing budgets, and cash flow projections. The position is responsible for administration and maintenance of JD Edwards job cost applications and working in Coupa, Hubble, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access. Additionally, the applicant must have proven ability to effectively communicate directly with Division Controller, Corporate Accounting, external auditors, Senior Management, etc. This position is onsite Monday-Thursday with the ability to work remotely on Friday's.

What You Will Do
  • Prepare Community Facilities District (CFD) reimbursement packages.
  • Prepare CFD reimbursement forecasts and budgets.
  • Construction and consulting contract administration.
  • Prepare monthly Development Status Report.
  • Assist site personnel with job cost accounting related matters.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting for Corporate Accounting, Senior Management, and others.
  • Administration and maintenance of JD Edwards job cost applications.
  • Input requisitions and change orders in Coupa spend management platform.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree with major or focus in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required.
  • Project cost accounting experience required.
  • JD Edwards accounting system experience preferred.
  • Coupa spend management platform experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and related products.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate directly with Division Controller, Corporate Accounting, external auditors, Senior Management, etc.
  • A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong technical writing skills.
  • Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
