About The Role

Howard Hughes offers a 9-week Summer Associate Program that provides a purpose-filled curriculum within Real Estate Development, Investments and Capital Markets, Sustainability, Innovation, and Marketing. The summer program hosts a diverse class of Summer Associates, both undergraduate and graduate students, from around the country to work alongside senior executives and managers on active transactions and projects within residential, office and master planned communities. We welcome those who want to join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment where there is a steadfast commitment to the communities we build and our employees.

Our Summer Associate Program will provide housing and competitive wages for top talent. The program includes special projects for the CEO and President, as well as opportunities in financial modeling training, professional networking, learning sessions as well as team-building activities. Throughout the summer, the Summer Associates have an interactive experience with all the leaders and teams throughout the company. At the conclusion of the program, the Summer Associate Class present their analysis and make real-time recommendations to HHC leadership and department managers to help drive and grow the business.

What You Will Do
  • Work on assigned projects within Marketing for The Woodlands, Bridgeland and The Woodlands Hills, award-winning master planned communities in the Greater Houston portfolio of Howard Hughes.
  • Support efforts by conducting research to analyze competing communities, market trends, consumer behaviors, buyer demographics, and social media strategy (both internal and external).
  • Assist in the due diligence process of marketing projects and internship assignments
  • Interact and build relationships with senior leadership and department teams.
  • Participate and assist in planning program activities including executive speaker series, site tours, community events, community relations, lunch and learns, manager check-ins, networking events, and final intern presentation.
  • As needed, interact with community affairs and events, residential and office tenants, vendors, commercial brokers, builder sales agents, and residential real estate professionals.

About You
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing or communications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional integrity.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients professionally.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Proactive thinker with creative problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to work well with others, from peer to senior leadership.

Summer Associate Program 2025

9-weeks: June 2nd through August 1, 2025

Location: The Woodland Corporate Office

Class Size: 10 students (both undergraduate and graduate)
