About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager for Construction & Facilities in the Expansion Function, you will lead, manage, and organize construction projects with a high level of professionalism, according to company policies, guidelines, and local legislation. You will be responsible for pre-project planning, including site surveys, budgeting, and risk analysis, while managing, onboarding, and training external consultants and vendors (e.g., signage, HVAC, IFS), as well as general contractors and external project managers. In addition, you will play a key role in onboarding and training new project managers who join the team and act as a subject matter expert (SME) for construction trades. You will also support your peers by covering for them when they are on vacation.

This hybrid role reports into our South USA & PR Sales Market C&F Manager and is based out of the Los Angeles Support Office.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
Pre-Project Planning:
- Conduct site surveys, manage budgeting, and perform risk analysis
- Prepare investment budgets and business cases, based on our Construction 5-Step Process
- Plan retroactively based on input from other departments and external consultants to optimize project timelines and costs
- Secure sufficient partners in order to enable expansion, service delivery and optimize overall investment and cost levels
- Distribute projects and service scope workload to the team taking into consideration project complexity, size of service scope, opening dates and geographical/logistic aspects
Project Management:
- Secure the onboarding and training of external consultants and vendors (e.g., signage, HVAC, IFS), general contractors, and external project managers
- Oversee the onboarding and training of new project managers joining the team
- Act as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for construction trades, providing guidance and technical expertise
- Support fellow Senior Project Managers by covering projects when they are on vacation
- Secure that projects are managed in a professional way and ready in time, with expected quality, at the best cost, in a sustainable and compliant way
- Drive alignment of quality expectations for stores and projects within the market and ensure that the service scope delivery is meeting brand requirements and cost expectations
- Secure health and safety for all projects and stores
- Work in close collaboration with the Regional Construction and Facilities Manager to set and implement the strategy in your market
- Work in close collaboration with Expansion Manager and Sales Market Controller to secure the best overall result for the business
- Meet regularly with the internal partners (I.e.: Store Managers, Area Managers and Sales Market Sales Managers) communicating all on-going project activities
- Liaise with key suppliers to ensure that parts supply and subcontracted services are delivered within industry standard(s), contract(s) and to budget
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Supports C&F Managers with oversight of Construction Project Managers following up with Project risks, important Project Dates, Lima data oversight and self-audits of Project Managers completed projects
- Solicits and manages vendor proposals and invoicing
- Covers for other Senior Project Managers during their vacation or absence
- Financial oversight of projects of $30M-$50M annually
- Manages Construction Template set and coordinates with internal & external partners and works with Architects and Engineers to make updates as needed
- Required domestic and international travel up to 40% of time
Qualifications
Who You Are:
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Facility Management, Construction and/or real estate, preferably within the retail industry
- Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
- Experience leading a team
- Experience working in an international, matrix organization with several stakeholders and seniority levels
- Have a good understanding about technical installations (such as HVAC, Fire Safety systems, electrical installations etc.), procurement, health & safety, facility or construction management techniques
- Must be able to read and interpret Lease agreements and Landlord work letters
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with external partners including but not limited to vendors, general contractors and Landlords
- Have a strong business mindset, communicate well and are comfortable in making decisions
- Ability to work strategically, by planning ahead and foresee opportunities and improvements
- Effectively collaborate with groups of diverse people and communicate in an inspiring way to motivate colleagues and teams

Compensation: salary range is $125,822 - $144,699 annually
