Job Description

As a Retail Merchandise Lead for the USA- CA- PR Sales Market, in the Merchandising function, you drive execution of the commercial agenda and merchandising strategy together with Merchandise Managers to exceed business targets. The Lead will have a deep interest in the customer and consumer and stock management. The person in the role will have retail knowledge and an interest in product, strong analytical abilities, commercial skills, and will work to constantly improve customer shopping experience and offer in market.

This hybrid role reports into the Merchandise Manager for your respective concept and is based out of New York, NY.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

Implement & execute regional merchandising strategy and commercial priorities:

  • Execute regional assortment direction in close alignment to Merchandising Manager
  • Optimize local selling peaks driven by calendar and customer shopping behavior
  • Be responsible for all information distributed to sales and store teams
  • Know your market competitive landscape and customer profile
  • Be up to date with regional assortment and demand & inventory strategies

Drive in and post season inventory management:

  • Pick full price, discount, and sale activities in line with Merchandise Manager
  • Execute stock management, Sale, and EOP in line with the regional strategy
  • Execute regional guidelines related to assortment and allocation
  • Follow-up on store stock and resolve issues together with inventory optimization team
  • Execute regional strategy for commercial impact on key product categories (including different store segments) and act based on in season performance

Follow up and inform about progress:

  • Provide commercial team with constant & structured sales follow-up for the channel
  • Review your commercial plan periodically and suggest improvements for next year
  • Follow up commercial initiatives in store (travel two days a week) to confirm or adjust actions needed to meet the regional merchandising strategy
  • Follow-up commercial results and KPIs and benchmark between areas, sales markets and other regions

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance or similar
  • 1-3 years of experience within merchandising or a sales function
  • Strong retail knowledge
  • Knowledge in operational best practices and routines for physical store
  • Sales-driven and have a strong commercial awareness and salesmanship
  • Strong in driving commercial product excellence
  • Understanding of products, stock and product lifecycle management
  • Good skills in MS Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and adaptable to change, a strategic mindset
  • Oral and written proficiency in English

Compensation: salary range is $98,957-$111,326 annually
