Job Description
As an Inventory Optimization Lead in the Merchandising function, you are a key contributor to the merchandising unit, focused on achieving the optimal balance between inventory levels and customer demand between markets, warehouses and selling channels. You play a critical role in ensuring product availability, reducing carrying costs, and maximizing operational efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in inventory management, data analysis, and supply chain understanding.

This hybrid role reports into our Inventory Optimization Manager and is based out of New York, NY.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
Allocation:
- Execute strategy, way of working, and be accountable for execution of initial allocation parameters
- PM level execution and follow up of allocation parameters
- Execute strategy in allocation systems & Tools such as SMT, KL
Inventory Optimization:
- Follow up inventory targets for warehouse and store segments and support with actionable direction
- Follow up replenishment and push strategy and settings per store segments to maximize sales and stock efficiency
- Monitor and improve stock accuracy in stores by supporting RFID routines
- Execute system set-ups to secure warehouse stock composition and SKU management
- Monitor and execute system set up in collaboration with Demand & Supply unit, Merchandise Managers/Leads, and Logistics
Garment Flow Planning:
- Optimize supply to minimize constraints and drivers impacting sales in line with inventory optimization strategy set by the Inventory Optimization Manager
- Monitor and act on inbound/outbound garment flow to support logistics planning
- Follow up execution of framework for prioritization of articles for allocation to secure commerciality in stores
- Support the capacity planning for store inbound/outbound to support store planning
Qualifications
Who You Are:
- University degree, preferably in Business, Economics/ Finance or similar
- 1-3 years' experience merchandising, supply chain planning, inventory optimization, buying or planning
- Omni retail knowledge
- Previous experience with merchandising, stock management, logistics or sales
- Understanding of stock management strategies and practices
- Understanding of logistics, allocation, store operations and online sales
- High analytical skills
- High level of salesmanship
- Advanced Excel user
- Collaborative personality and good communication skills
- Oral and written proficiency in English

Compensation: salary range is $98,957-$111,326 annually
