The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Support the transformer components sales organization and customers throughout the Order Management, Handling enquiries, proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the applied products and technology, determining costs, preparing documentation, and serving key technical resource in the assigned area.

Your responsibilities:

  • Write value added proposals for mainstream transformers components (Tap changers and Bushings) ensure they are captured in current tools.
  • Responsible for all technical, financial (costs and prices) and management aspects of bids/estimates/ proposal
  • Register and follow up orders in SAP4Hana (Booking, follow-up with planning, Order Confirmation, Delivery follow-up, Shipping process
  • Make sure registered information is correct according to agreement with customer and internal regulations.
  • Interaction with internal teams (Sales, Planning, SCM and Logistics)
  • Arranging Kick-off call or Gate meetings against orders.
  • On time submission of Order Acknowledgement
  • Make sure product is manufactured and delivered on time as per the agreed date.
  • Invoice customer, follow up and ensure invoices are paid on time in SAP4Hana
  • Identifies potential risks in Order execution
  • Selection of Products based on the customer specification.
  • Prepared and submit technical/Commercial tender for internal and external customer.
  • Handling of inquiries together with ASM and technical Customer Support Team, send final Quotation to the customer and process order including OA submission.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with existing and new customers
  • Use of judgment and initiative necessary to identify priorities, solve problems, meet schedule, adapt to change and choose the most efficient ways to do the work.

Your Background:

  • Good knowledge in Tap Changer and Bushings.
  • Basic understanding on retrofitting of Tap changer and Bushings.
  • Should have high degree of inter-cultural sensitivity, targeted oriented working style and drive to succeed.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • < 5 years of experience, with a combination of Order Management and/or tender/quotation experience
  • Experience from any previous role in sales and marketing with a similar global environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge in SAP S4HANA (Order Management Module) is added advantage
  • English (mandatory), Swedish would be an advantage
  • Ability to interpret product specifications
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with strong organization and time
  • Marketing and Sales acumen (with previous customer-facing experience preferably)
  • Ability to handle many enquiries/orders simultaneously
  • Ability to perform data entry for proposals & orders using internal tools
  • Proven experience with successfully organizing complex processes and activities to deliver high quality proposals
  • Proven development and maintenance of positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and others in contact with the job
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
