Hitachi Energy, Grid Automation Division is a leading provider of communication systems, ensuring the highest standards of availability and security for both operational and administrative communication. We are seeking a Telecomes Project Manager to join our local team in Dublin, Ireland.
The opportunity
This role requires professional expertise in telecommunications and electrical engineering. If you possess a blend of telecommunication knowledge, site management experience, strong communication skills, and team spirit, we invite you to join us as a Telecoms Project Manager. The project is expected to span three to four years, starting from mid-2025
How you'll make an impact
- Project Execution: Oversee the successful execution of local project activities until site works are completed. Collaborate with customers or their representatives to design and engineer telecommunication systems tailored to Irish customer requirements. Manage the contract with your commercial expertise.
- Milestone Management: Define, coordinate, and manage all local project milestones with the customer. Proactively address deviations to keep the project on track.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, ensuring satisfaction through open and proactive communication.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate two teams responsible for countrywide installation and commissioning works.
- Sales and Reporting: Drive upselling opportunities within the project and manage regular project reporting to all internal and external stakeholders. Handle project invoicing and payment follow-up with the customer.
- System Migration: Work with teams in Switzerland and Ireland to migrate the customer's telecommunications infrastructure. Plan and supervise the installation of new MPLS-TP systems and migrate existing SDH nodes as needed. Conduct site visits to gather information and inspect installations.
- Project Oversight: Oversee all project phases, collaborating with clients and installation engineers to ensure successful system deployment.
- Health & Safety: Have a thorough understanding of local Health & Safety legislation as well as Hitachi Energy Environment Health & Safety rules. Ensure adherence to these requirements.

Your Background:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, with specialized knowledge in telecommunication networks and modern voice and data communication technologies (SDH / PDH / MPLS / DWDM / VoIP).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management. Project management certification is highly desired.
- Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, high intercultural sensitivity, and the ability to build sustainable relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Fluent in English.
