Supplier Quality Engineer - North American Power Grid
The Opportunity: Join Hitachi Energy as a Supplier Quality Engineer within our North American Power Grid - Transformer (PGTR) organization. In this dynamic role, you'll ensure the highest quality standards for materials and products, working closely with testing and inspection laboratories. You'll be at the forefront of pre-qualification, inspection, and testing processes, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and quality control plans. How You'll Make an Impact:
- Identify critical-to-quality components and prioritize risks using FMEA.
- Partner with suppliers to maintain effective process controls for high-risk failure modes.
- Coordinate and resolve high-impact supplier nonconformances.
- Execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure consistent part manufacturing.
- Conduct supplier audits and receiving inspections.
- Monitor and report supplier-related non-compliances and test failures.
- Maintain a supplier performance data management system.
- Support suppliers in achieving quality conformance and continuous improvement.

Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality.
- Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Experience with transformer systems or related technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with failure analysis and FMEA.
- Familiarity with data-driven analytical methodologies and process improvement practices.
