Join Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation & Communication organization as a Senior System Test Engineer at our accredited System Verification and Validation Center (SVC) in Baden, Switzerland. You'll contribute to the verification and validation of substation automation systems while collaborating with global stakeholders. How you'll make an impact:
- Ensure verification and validation activities for Substation Automation Systems at the system integration level
- Support SVC operations with expert knowledge in Substation Automation and IEC 61850
- Collaborate with R&D and other business units, offering technical expertise
- Design, execute, and report on test activities in an incremental approach, ensuring on-time delivery
- Define system-level test concepts and specifications in collaboration with global teams and product management
- Align test strategies and processes with global verification and validation principles
- Create high-quality guidelines and concepts to support worldwide system integration projects
- Enhance existing testing techniques and processes within our automation and communication verification and validation organization

Your background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Electrical Engineering, or technical diploma (TS/HF)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, testing, or commissioning of substation automation systems with IEC 61850
- Solid knowledge of testing approaches and processes focused on system integration (ISTQB Foundation Level certification preferred)
- Ability to work independently on complex configuration and testing tasks
- Strong team player who can coordinate activities effectively in the test center
- Excellent writing and communication skills to represent SVC professionally
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of German is an advantage
- Candidates should preferably hold a Swiss work permit and have availability to travel if required
