Hitachi Energy is seeking a Segment Marketing Lead for our "asset intensive industries" and new energy carriers. We are looking for an experienced business-to-business marketing professional to cover our activities for the e-mobility, heavy-industry and hydrogen sectors.

The ideal candidate combines industry expertise with a solid understanding of the business problems our customers are trying to solve. You will need the instincts of a great marketer/storyteller, have a strong analytical mindset, and possess the vision to create compelling content to support our go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to the Global Head of Demand Generation, in this role you will collaborate with Hitachi Energy's Industry Network Leaders, Sales teams and Business Units to develop and execute on a strategic marketing plan for our "asset intensive", driving awareness, interest, engagement, preference, and advocacy, ultimately growing orders, revenue, and market share.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Segment value propositions & messaging - Support the Industry Network Leaders in articulating the customer-centric value propositions and proof points for these segments, differentiating Hitachi Energy from competition.
  • Awareness & Demand Generation campaigns - own the global marketing plan for the given segments, planning and executing on the optimal mix of marketing tactics for awareness building and demand generation. Drive the development of content, in line with our value propositions, and select the right channels for maximum ROI.
  • Collateral development - Create strategic content plan for industry and sub-sectors. Develop high-impact customer-facing materials aligned with defined messaging and buyer personas. These include brochures, videos, white papers, case studies, e-books, external presentations, etc. Maintain a readily accessible, complete, and up to date library of collateral.
  • Segmentation and buyer personas - Working with Digital Marketing, develop clear customer segmentation for the addressable markets. Define industry and sub-sector specific buyer personas and buyer journeys.
  • Community building / internal awareness - support the Industry Network Leaders in the buildup and upkeep of their internal communities of champions covering these segments. Provide Marketing updates and seek feedback in the regular segment community calls.
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence - Stay informed of key and emerging global and regional market trends, challenges, and regulatory developments. Stay informed of competing and emerging alternatives, competitor activities and their impacts on our competitive differentiation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's, Master's degree or equivalent in business, economics or engineering.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in segment/industry marketing or product management, for B2B technology solutions.
  • Background knowledge in one or more of what we define as our "emerging industries" - renewables, data centers, e-mobility, and hydrogen.
  • Articulate complex technical themes into appealing customer-facing thought leadership materials
  • Ability to operate effectively at all levels in the organization, with excellent written and oral communication, influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to research, analyze and understand market trends, financial information, and voice of customer.
  • Strong combined business and technical education and experience.
