HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi Energy located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.

How you'll make an impact
- Translate product roadmap and technical vision into a R&D portfolio Backlog in the HVDC system R&D area
- Develop IP and Collaboration strategy
- Prepare and lead regular system portfolio synchronization with stakeholders
- Support project review in the system portfolio
- Maintain close collaboration with Product Management regarding the direction and content, as well as with Engineering, Operations and Service teams regarding the deliverables
- Responsibility for defining the R&D budget together with HVDC R&D portfolio office
- Prepare project charted and support R&D budget distribution between projects aligned with Product Management, R&D Portfolio office manager and Technology manager
- Responsible for global project execution and reporting, including but not limited to deliver on time, on budget, and on quality
Your background
- To be successful in this position we see that you have experience in R&D project management and/or portfolio management.
- You have a degree in M.Sc. in Electrical/Power/Physics/Power Electronics/Computer Science or equal.
- Good knowledge of valve and HVDC system.
- You are structured, driven and like to continuously improve processes and come with new ideas.
- You are collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
- Team player with drive and interpersonal competence, strong leadership and communication skills, who can manage demanding expectations and complex interdependencies.
- Project management certification and experience of Lean Product Development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferable.
- Available for travels is essential for all global roles.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken alike, is required for this role.
