You will contribute and support the team to meet successful results in Research & Development projects development for our Transformer Business Unit in Monselice (PD).
We are seeking a student in a field of electrical or mechanical engineering or in the physics to join our R&D team for an internship. The successful candidate will be engaged in the development of optimization of some parts/features of our transformers through the study and electrical and magnetic optimization by means of numerical analysis of finite elements.

This internship can also have the purpose of developing a thesis. The expected duration of this internship is 6 months.
The internship is also open to recent Master graduates in one of the technical fields indicated above, who want to gain experience in a multinational dedicating themselves to the development of a research and development project.
The internship will be mainly in presence in our Monselice Technology center office: our attention therefore for a candidate who lives near this location or who has a car to be able to easily reach our office.
Your Responsibility:
Followed you our experts, you will perform all the dielectric and magnetic FEM analysis needed for the optimization of some parts/features of our transformer according to specific design criteria and standards requirements.
Develop appropriate optimization algorithms and tools to fast-up the FEM analysis
Extract and manage data from different transformer designs and databases.
Interact and collaborate with colleagues from Italian Team, Global Technology Centers and Factories worldwide.
Learn how to use specific Software and Simulation tools used in the department.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or recognized equivalent), mechanical engineering or physics.
- Knowledge/experience of FEM analysis and tools, better if in dielectrics or magnetics fields.
- Power transformer technology knowledge will be considered a plus.
- Good knowledge of Ansys or equivalent FEM simulation tools.
- Knowledge of Python or similar program language (C#, R, ...)
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office & MS Project, Outlook
- Excellent problem-solving skills, product development practices expertise and familiarity on work in a structured way.
- Good Fluent spoken and written English.
