We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions.

How you'll make an impact:

  • You will act as an advocate for the Customer by ensuring the Voice of the Customer is represented within the project for all quality matter during execution, represent the company in terms of Quality in front of the customer, interface with the customer on Project Quality issues and ensure ownership of actions to resolve it, enable and coach all project team members to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a quality and customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • You will set up the Project Quality Plan/ Quality Management System for the project, embedded in the Project Execution Plan, to merge and match customer requirements, Power Grids (PG) policies, regulations and processes and local regulations, collaborate with project to develop schedules, estimate, fore-casts, and budgets for quality activities, documents general and special conditions for use on all project quality documents, project quality procedures and project quality plans and ensures compliance, analyze Lessons Learned (LL) / Transfer of Experience (ToE) from previous projects and plans QA activities to reduce risks.
  • You will work with project management teams to prevent mistakes and defects during project execution, provide confidence that Hitachi Energy and customer quality requirements will be fulfilled, establish customer and stakeholder needs/expectations, drive the utilization of process management across the project to deliver consistent results, minimizing variation and maximizing efficiencies, utilize Power Grids (PG) aligned systems and tools to assist project functions during execution to meet operational and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle, apply project quality procedures, plans and ensure appropriate implementation and compliance by the project team.
  • You will ensure effective internal controls system (project, supply and site) are in place to verify that processes continue to meet customer and stakeholder requirements, validate that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating prioritized risks, ensure effective quality control during project execution in the form of reviews, inspections, non-conformances and audits in accordance with internal & customer contractual requirements, pro-actively facilitate the resolution of issues related to quality for a successful project delivery.
  • You will perform audits on project delivery and ensures the use of analytics of Quality data from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and nonconformances within the local business, its suppliers and customers, ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken, and solutions are managed to closure. You will drive quality culture by influencing and engaging the project team for being responsible of their job's quality, support the team to adapt to incoming changes, moving from firefighting to preventive mode.
  • You will be responsible as a quality ambassador within the project team and with the customer, driving process compliance and adapting improvements in processes, educating project members in quality processes and routines, coordinating quality related work in the project, follow-up and act on deviations and changes, analyzing quality workhours and monitoring project staffing plans and project quality work-hour expenditures, including site, cooperating with functional managers and HR department in project staffing.

Your background:

  • A university degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Electrical or Mechanical, Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • More than 8 years of experience as a Project Quality professional in reputed Engineering/EPC companies comparable to Hitachi Energy business portfolio. Having experience in managerial role will be added advantage.
  • Exposure or skilled in Six Sigma, Quality tools like 7 QC & 8-D Tools, 5S and Kaizen. Having GB or BB would be added advantage to the candidate.
  • Broad knowledge of organization / area of operation, in depth quality assurance and quality control. Must have been worked as project quality specialist or equivalent in similar industries & work independently and with mindset of work as a team. Broad experience in business process improvement, data gathering and analysis.
  • Experiences of quality assurance/control related assignments, experience in Project Management would be added advantage. Fully comfortable in the Microsoft suite (Excel, Access etc.) and Office 365 collaborative tools.
  • Native level Japanese language. Knowledge of Japanese business manner. Business level English language, TOEIC 800 and above would be preferred and strong communication skills and ability to manage many stakeholders.
